Hi! I am Christina, your Garden Coach and owner of Garden Path Consulting
I believe that the most beautiful landscapes are created with edible plants and ornamental varieties. I am drawn to the potager style kitchen gardening and believe that the garden should be just as beautiful as it is intentional and productive - gardens are a place of being present and feeling peaceful.
Growing up with Italian/Mediterranean roots, I was taught that food feeds the body, mind, and soul. I have memories of picking my vegetable of choice for dinner in my grandmother’s backyard potager garden. As a child, the garden seemed vast and magical — discovering where food comes from and how it grows became an interest of mine early on. Growing specific vegetable and herb varieties has channeled a connection to my family history by allowing me to recreate regional family recipes passed on from previous generations. To this day, I still find magic in the garden daily. There is always something to look forward to!
I am a self taught, hobby gardener. I am passionate about growing my own food, incorporating edible plants in garden landscapes, creating potager garden designs, and growing a cut flower garden. I have been trained as a garden consultant and completed the Gardenary Garden Consultant certification program. In addition, I completed the Floret Online Workshop training course, an annual 6-week intensive online learning program focused on growing flowers on a small scale. Lastly, I have taken flower arranging courses and horticulture classes at a local college for fun and enrichment purposes.
I believe growing food has a way of linking each of us with one another. When we grow our own food—we grow for flavor and are getting better nutrition. There is a great deal of enjoyment in creating nature’s community in our own backyards and neighborhoods. My goal is to create a garden design that helps establish a diverse ecosystem that works above and below the soil line. We will learn to grow with nature in harmony together.
I am a true believer in that :
The smell of herbs relieves anxiety
Seeing the color green slows down your heart rate
Hearing birds sing can help you focus
Watching plants grow increases the production of feel good hormones like serotonin
Gardening can actually make you happy
LET’S GROW TOGETHER!
We look forward to connecting and will be in touch soon.
